July 25, 2009 – Stampin’ and Scrappin’ Party

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

On Saturday, I held my first Stampin’ Up! event at my house. I invited a few friends (hellofromkate.com being one) and gave some demos of a card, a bookmark and a scrapbook page. I served some yummy food.

The card was made with Whisper White cardstock layered with the new In Color Rich Razzleberry (cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″) layered with a piece of Cottage Wall Designer Series paper (4″ x 6″) die cut with the Top Note die using the Big Shot. A piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut to 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and stamped. The butterfly stamp from the Great Friend set was inked with Rich Razzleberry ink and the sentiment from the same set was inked with Old Olive ink. All corners were rounded using the Corner Rounder punch.

Next we made a bookmark. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 2″ x 5″ and rounded the bottom corners using the Corner Rounder punch. Using the Round Tab punch, I punched a piece of Whisper White card stock. I attached one end of the tab to the front of the 2″ x 5″ cardstock using a Mini Glue Dot. I folded the tab along the middle and attached the back tab to the back of the 2″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock. I used a 1/4″ in. hole punch to punch a hole in the center of the tab. I selected some 1/2″ Bermuda Bay Polka-Dot Grosgrain ribbon and threaded a piece through the hole. I ran the ribbon back through and made a loop like a necktie to create a little decoration for the tab.

I stamped my intial on the 2″ x 5″ cardstock using the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet in Bermuda Bay ink. I used the In Color markers to color the Dreams stamp and the Butterfly stamp in the Dreams du Jour set.

What I love about this bookmark is that it is a blank slate for you to choose the colors and stamp sets that you like. Make it your own!

Next time, I’ll share some of the scrapbook page layouts.

We had a really great time together and I can’t wait for my next event!

A Card For You

card made with Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper, In Color 09-10 Ink, and circle punches

card made with Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper, In Color 09-10 Ink, and circle punches

I made this card this weekend as a sample of what to do with the new DS paper Razzleberry Lemonade (#115675) and the new In Colors for 09-10.

The base is a piece of Whisper White cardstock (#100730) cut down to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card. A piece of the DS Paper is cut down to 4″ x 5″, the corners rounded using the Corner Rounder punch (#109047) and glued to the card front. I used the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch (#104401) to punch out alternating colors of the In Color card stock (#115315). On Whisper White cardstock, I used the In Color markers (#116329) to ink the middle flower from the Eastern Blooms stamp set (#111626) in colors coordinating with the In Color cardstock. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the flowers. I adhered the flower circles to the cardstock circles and adhered that to the front of the piece of DS Paper. I used one of the In Color markers to ink the sentiment from the Great Friend set (#113792) just below the circles. I used the Corner Rounder to round the corners of the Whisper White card.

In Colors used: Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay
