Brown Paper Packages…. (Cards For Heroes)

Written by dabhug on August 12th, 2009

Welcome to my stop on the Cards for Heroes mini-bloghop!

My friend Kate has been making Cards for Heroes and I’ve decided that I’d like to join her. This is my very first card for them.

For this card, I cut Kraft cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ for the base. I cut some Real Red and Always Artichoke 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon to make the ribbon on the “package.” I used the Real Red, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, and Yoyo Yellow markers to ink the oval scallop stamp in the Christmas Punch stamp set. I love to use markers to add color and dimension to stamps. I used the Oval Scallop punch to punch out the stamped image. I used a small hole punch to punch a hole to put some twine through. I used a couple of glue dots to attach the tag and twine to the center of the “present.”

Simple, easy, and cute. I hope to make a lot more of these and other cards for Cards For Heroes.

Cards For Heroes is focusing on making holiday cards. The deadline for sending in holiday cards is November 1.

Brown paper packages tied up with strings – these are a few of my favorite things.

I admire the way you color the details on the stamps. I don’t have the patience for it.

What a sweet card! And it’s a nice simple design so it would be easy to whip up a bunch more for CFH – your cards don’t need to all be different or elaborate, because everything gets mixed together before it’s mailed… I’m sure people would love to get a card like that to use. :)(make many cards – it’s FUN!)
