Sprinkles!

I made this card for a challenge to use chalks. The Stampin’ Pastels came with my demonstrator kit and I must admit, I never knew what in the world I was going to do with them.  I’ll be using them a lot more after today.

The card base is Bermuda Bay cardstock cut to 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2. I layered on a piece of retired Designer Series paper from Urban Oasis cut to 4″ X 5 1/4″. On a piece of Basic Black cardstock that had been cut to 3 1/4″ X 3 3/4″, I stamped the cupcake bottom and top from Big Bold Birthday. I stamped them in Whisper White Craft Ink. I then colored them in with Brilliant Blue and Regal Rose Stampin’ Pastels. This really worked like a dream, no mess. The color goes exactly where you apply it. And there are so many colors to choose from! After that, I stamped a letter from an acrylic stamp set and added Bold Brights brads for sprinkles with the Paper Piercing Tool. I added a piece of the 3/4″ Bermuda Bay grosgrain ribbon. I stamped the sentiment from the retired Hugs and Wishes set onto a tag cut from Confetti paper. I’ve lined the inside with Whisper White cardstock to write a message.

I made two of these for two Brandys in my life born five days apart. The cards were a bit of work, but I really had fun making them.
